My background
I have worked across NHS services, specialist teams, statutory services and community settings, supporting people with complex emotional needs, trauma histories and neurodivergent profiles. Over the years, I have developed a particular interest in a culturally and neurodivergent adapted CBT and attachment-informed work and helping people rebuild confidence after long periods of self-doubt.
I am a parent, advocate for neurodivergent children and someone who values nature, mindfulness and small grounding rituals. These parts of me shape the calm, steady way I work.
As a BABCP‑accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, my training has been rigorous, comprehensive, and grounded in the highest professional standards. I completed an intensive postgraduate programme in CBT that included advanced clinical practice, regular supervision, and in‑depth assessment of my therapeutic skills, ethical practice, and theoretical knowledge.
Alongside core CBT training, I have undertaken specialist training in Trauma‑Focused CBT, enabling me to work safely and effectively with trauma responses, post‑traumatic stress, and the complex ways trauma can shape thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. This training emphasized stabilization, pacing, and collaborative, compassionate approaches to trauma recovery.
My accreditation with the BABCP reflects a commitment to ongoing professional development, evidence‑based practice, and delivering therapy that is safe, effective, and tailored to each individual’s needs including adapted approaches for neurodivergent clients and those with complex emotional histories.
What CBT Feels like in our sessions
- We explore your experiences together at your pace
- We look at patterns with curiosity not judgement
- We build practical tools that support you day-to-day
-We focus on what matters to you not generic worksheets
-We adapt everything to your communication style, sensory needs, and processing speed
My philosophy is CBT is most effective when it feels collaborative and human - not clinical or pressurised.
Many people don't see themselves in traditional CBT . That is why I offer adapted CBT which means:
- Slower pacing
- More visual or structured approaches
- Sensory-aware strategies
-Space for shutdowns, overwhelm or emotional intensity
- No pressure to mask or 'perform'
- A focus on safety, connection and understanding before change
- Space to incorporate your culture and faith
Your brain and your experiences shape the therapy - not the other way around.
